- Leonardo knew math was essential for paintings, and he used the golden ratio to develop the Canon of Proportions which included the Vitruvian man drawing. The ratio is 1:1.618.
- Da Vinci devloped a wide variety of compasses including the ellispograph.
- He studied arches and how to keep them from collapsing. He used this knowledge to design buildings for the Duke of Milan.
- Leonardo drew polyhedrals which illustrate Luca Paciolis' book The Divine Proportion.
- He studied hard on the mathematics of flight and made a drawing of a flying machine.
I don't really know how to blog so this will mostly be a space where I post whatever comes to mind. That may be music, ideas, or even just how my day went. You could say this is my online diary I guess. I hope it's interesting enough.
