a post about a lot of things...

Hello folks.  It's been a really long time since I blogged because I've been so busy.  There is no internet access at the Occupy.  Well, let me tell you what I've been doing.

I've been to classes, visited friends, and gone to OccupyRaleigh. One day I went to a class about the history of math.  It was a good class. Our homework is that we had to dream up an invention. Mine is a hover disc. The lift would be provided by magnets.  I imagine a disc with a magnet on the bottom and a sidewalk with opposite magnets underneath.  The other class was about medieval weapons.  This class was about the trebuchet. Me, Madison the Inscrutable and another friend began building a trebuchet.  No, not a huge trebuchet, a very small trebuchet.  Well, actually, very small compared to a real trebuchet - actually, I don't know how to explain how smally large it was, but perhaps I will take pictures of it when it is finished.

I'll say more about what I've been doing in my next post because right now, I have to go trick or treating. Happy Halloween! (I hope I'll post again soon.)

protest shirts and policemen

Hello.  Today I'm going to blog about OccupyR****** again.  At OccupyR*****, I did a lot of milling about and sitting around and holding signs, well, more like holding a sign.  There my mom helped me make a shirt and here are some pictures of my shirt.

Well, hmm, a few technical difficulties.  I guess I won't be able to show you my shirt afterall. Oh well, let me describe it instead: on the front it says Occupy Ra***** and on the back it has a peace sign.  It's all colored in sharpy.

There were a a few cops there staring at us menacingly.  And I don't see why they should be staring at us menacingly because we were doing peaceful things nonviolently.  I will post more on it tomorrow.  Good-bye for now!

Yay!  I was able to post these pictures after all!
Actually... this post is from a couple of days ago, but somehow never made it out of draft... oops.

A day of millling about and protesting

Hello.  Today I'm going to be blogging about what I did today. Some of the time today, I spent milling about, then I started to play Zoo Tycoon 2. (I made a penguin zoo.) Computer zoos are cool, but real zoos should only have rescued animals.

Anyway, the best part of my day was that we went to OccupyRaleigh.  Yes, I said it! It was really fun.  I got to talk to a lot of people, all of whom where adults. In fact, I was the only child there.  I had lots of different conversations about topics ranging from cats to the plight of the 99%. While my mom was at a meeting at OccupyRaleigh, I was busy sidewalk chalking.  Here's a picture of one that I did.

I hope everyone comes to OccupyRaleigh on Saturday.  It's at the Ol' State Capital building.  Folks are there all the time, but Saturday should be big.  That's all for tonight!

A day full of fun

Hello.  Today I'm going to be blogging about a couple of things: having dessert at a really vegan restaurant and going to an immensely fun protest. I had dessert with my friend Mia at an almost vegan restaurant.  I had vegan chocolate cake with vegan whip cream.  Sadly, the whip cream was so slight that it tasted like nothing, but the cake was good.

After that, we went to a really fun protest: OccupyR******!  It was a really funny protest.  I had two signs which I made myself though I had help with one of them.  One of my signs said, "End the Wars! Tax the Rich not the Poor." The other sign said, "Injured and in Action, OccupyR******!"

Ah, that reminds me, I forgot to tell you.  One day while visiting a friend, I was practicing on his ripstick.  A ripstick is a board, kind of like of skateboard, only it has two wheels and you twist it to make it go.  Anyway, I was practicing, and I hit some grass thus giving me some thrust and finally landing me on my hand thus spraining my arm.  That day we iced my arm and then I went home.  It started to hurt more than before.  So we decided to go to the hospital.  In the waiting room, we waited at least two hours. Finally, I got to go an ER room, and I saw a doctor.  She examined it, and then she ordered Xrays.  Then we had to wait there a while.  Eventually, a nurse came.  Finally, we went to the Xray room, and they Xrayed my arm.  Gladly, it wasn't broken only sprained. Then we went back to the room and after a while about 90 minutes maybe, a nurse came and put a brace on my arm called a splint.  Maybe I will put up a photo someday of the splint, but that's all for now.  Goodbye.

The Wisdom of Dr. Noodle Soup

Hello today I am going to be discussing why I think some people are grumpy.  (No, not you the viewers, you are awesome.)  I think some people are grumpy because of money, some because they don't have enough, some because they have to pay so much to own a house.  I think after we buy a house  it should not have any taxes on it.  I think we should pay for things with......pine straw or other local materials.

 And  now a random thought........

I am not sure why they call Raleigh the City of the Oaks.  I see more pine trees than oak trees.

And now some unsolicited advice.......

Try not to buy things with credit.  If you are going to buy things, buy more things that you NEED than things you WANT.

See you next time.  Ciao, ciao!

A pretty good day

Hello today I am going to be blogging about my day with Nonna (grandmother).  I woke up and had a very slow morning.  I sat around not doing much for a few hours.   In the afternoon, Nonna and I went on a really neat trail.  The trail went around a huge lake.  There were many bridges over troubling water.  There were lots of ducks (mostly mallards).  There were also swans and geese.  And we saw a great blue crane.  I think we learned something from the ducks because ducks share the lake.  I thought it would be really good if society was that way.   "Maybe ducks will teach us something," I said.  Then I said, "maybe the world will be changed by ducks."  Speaking of ducks, I don't think it is very good to feed the ducks bread crumbs because it is not in their natural diet.  The ducks get really vocal with their feathered friends.
I remember a long time ago when the Canadian geese used to make their odd sound and I would say, "Stop laughing at me."

We didn't just see ducks, swans and geese...Oh no, we also saw a large variety of fish in varying sizes.  We mostly saw the fish in shallow to shallowish deepish water.  When it got really deep, you know how lakes are, the water got darker.  When the ducks swam around in the shallow area, they kicked up a thick cloud of silt from the lake floor.  Sometimes it was like a trail following them.  It was a funny sight.

We also saw a turtle.  No it wasn't a small one nor was it a large one, just an in-between size turtle.   I was surprised that we saw at least "a" turtle due to the weather.  We also saw small sandpiper-like birds scurrying on the edge of the water.  On the rest of our hike it got later and later in the day.  So we had to walk faster a.k.a. power walk.  When we power walked, our knees got tired and our ankles began to ache.  We kept hoping we would get to the end, but all we did was go around another bend and another and another.  Finally we got past the bends to our destination.

After a quick glass of water and an apple for a snack we drove my sister to a class.  We had to do stuff for an hour until class was over.  We decided we would.....go to the store and pick up a pair of earbuds for my sister and a new pair of shoes for me.  Next.....we went to the grocery store because we were still quite hungry.  We were looking for a delicious healthy snack.  After quite a long time of thinking and walking through aisles, we made up our minds and chose to get.....PISTACHIOS!  We went back to Nonna's,  and then I decided to work on my blog.  Now Nonna says it is time we went to bed and rested our weary bones.

My two favorite cats - Part 2

Hello, today I am going to be blogging about my two awesome cats Eggbert and Rommy.  Eggbert is very cuddly and sometimes crazy - well playful.  Rommy is shy but also cuddly and playful.  She likes to play with bent pipe cleaners.  Rommy sometimes meows at her pipe cleaner (I am not sure why).  If I sit down she comes to snuggle with me.  Then if I get up fast she gets scared.  Rommy likes to sleep on the futon (couch).  She also likes to sleep on a large fuzzy, stuffed alligator.  We sometimes play with the bent pipe cleaners.  I slide them across the floor or throw them and she chases after the pipe cleaners.  Then she stares at it like it is going to do something else.

Now let's move on to Eggbert. At night Eggbert likes to come up on my bed and visit with me.  He doesn't have many games he likes to play, but at night Eggbert likes to carefully watch my hand hidden under the blanket move back and forth.  And then....he POUNCES on it !  When he is in a crazy playful mood, he clings to the back of the chair.  I run about half way down the stairs toward Eggbert and he jumps down and runs to the cat tree.  Eggbert likes the cat toy mouse and when I throw it over him he leaps into the air and tries to grab it (almost doing a flip).  He likes to sleep on the cat tree.  Eggbert meows a lot.

They are my favorite cats in the world.  That's all for now - see you next time.

Vegan Story Part 2

Hello I'm so sorry I haven't been blogging Ive been really busy  anyway I'm going to tell you the story about how I got mom to be completely vegan. So one day I was at my nanny and granddaddy's house, and I was having fun in there yard, and mom was eating cheese. I was sad because I couldn't have any, so I said "mom please stop eating cheese because I cant at it."  So she stopped eating it, and she became vegan. yay! :)

Why I haven't been posting is because I've been doing a lot of things with my friends and family. (Why I'm not typing the way I usually do is because my sister is helping me instead of my mom) That's all I'll do for today, tune in next time for more about my awesome cats. :)

The vegan story

Hello, I'm sorry I did not blog yesterday ; I don't usually post on caturday ( Saturday ) because I spend it with my cats.  Anyway, on with the blog...this is the the story of how I became vegan.

Caution: This story is gross.  Once when I was really little, I was coming home with Mom from Whole Foods.  I had a chicken leg.  (And no, mom wasn't happy about that, and neither am I right now.)  However, this was before I was vegan, and I had cleverly talked mom into allowing me to have chicken instead of tofu off the hot bar.  According to mom, (I don't remember this part of the story very well;) mom said that the meat weighed a lot, so I found these little chicken legs.

When mom still said no, I said, "It's not because of the weight; you're trying to impose your vegan choices on me." (I would be happy about those choices now.)  According to mom, she knew I was right, so she let me have it - WHA_BAM - She punched me in the face!  No, she didn't punch me in the face because that would be very rude.  She let me have the chicken leg, and she asked me not to get any on the car and to roll the window down to let out the horrible stench.

Meanwhile, in the car, I ate down to the bone; it made a crunching sound.  I thought of Miss Jenny's chickens, and I said, "Mom, I'm going to be vegan!"

After a few minutes thought, I said maybe I'll be half vegan because I couldn't give up fish and shrimp.  After a while, I'm not sure how long - at least a few months -  I decided not to eat shrimp because they are so small and cute.  I was still eating fish, salmon mostly at other people's houses.  After quite a while, again I am not sure, possibly a few months, I thought, "I don't usually eat fish; I guess I'll become completely vegan."

So, then I thought it through very carefully.  I went to mom and said, "Mom I'm going to be completely vegan, no fish - no nothin'."  And that's the story of how I became vegan.

This story was pretty hard to write.  I was trying not to barf.  I wrote it because it was how I became vegan, and I wanted to share it.

Next time, I'm going to tell you the story of how I got mom to stop eating CHEEZZZE; this was before either of us were vegan!
